Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand (1957) is heralded as a libertarian masterpiece.
True Names by Vernor Vinge (1981) brought cyberspace fiction into reality.
Cryptonomicon by Neil Stephenson (1999) charted the path of cryptographically secured anonymous e-money.
A Lodging of Wayfaring Men by Paul Rosenberg (2007) fictionalised the real events of the struggle between the FBI and the freedom-seekers building an anonymous online marketplace.
Cypherpunk and libertarian fiction has come a long way from its 20th century roots. Leaders and futurologists like Lyn Alden, Cory Doctrow, and Saifedean Ammous have gravitated towards stories as their preferred method to champion freedom.

Stories help those trapped inside the system see that there is a way out.
Readers empathize with downtrodden characters who reject tyranny.
Not everyone responds to in-depth market analysis, explanations of technology, or historical diatribes.
